One of the biggest global brands celebrated its most iconic symbol, Mickey Mouse, who turned 90 years old last year. The influence of this multinational entertainment conglomerate that this mouse represents is awe inspiring. In addition, the number of offshoot businesses and influencers that have exploded from the Disney effect is mind blowing. Industries such as Disney Travel Consultants , Social Media niche Disney bloggers and You tube videos tour guides, social media groups for Mothers, and wedding destinations planners are capitalizing on the Disney brand. When researching for this blog, I was blown away with the amount of websites that are dedicated to advice on experiencing Disney from the budget conscious to money is no object vacationers.
Some time ago, I ran into a colleague on Facebook who reminded me of her obsession with Disney. Throughout our years of working together, she would share with me her desire to be married at Disneyworld (including the Cinderella carriage). Her love for Disney runs deep (she’s not married yet).
Even my own exposure in childhood, started with Disney bedsheets and wallpaper in me and my brother’s bedroom. My two visits to Disney’s properties was once in California, as a seven year old during a family vacation and my second visit happened as an adult for business and an extended vacation to Disney World in Orlando, Florida. With Disneyworld, I was fortunate to experience the a weeklong corporate retreat where we were wined and dined by Disney employees and had the time to really explore a lot of Disney’s attractions.
So my commitment for my next visit is to elevate the Disney experience from the vantage point of deep pockets and no budget. So what does that entail?
VIP Private Tours
The ultimate in experience Disney is to book a private official Disney VIP tour. This booking can be done personally, however working with an experience travel agent who will determine your wants and needs and communicate those desires to Disney (including enjoying the park with an air-conditioned SUV to escort you from ride to ride).
This “magical” service provides you with your own personal concierge who will plan your visit taking into account the ages and sizes of any children in your party to focus on rides that the entire entourage can enjoy and attend to your every whim (VIP seating for parades, select shows and evening fireworks spectulars, reservations at restaurants, tending to young children’s needs, etc.). The other benefit is the ability to skip those long lines into Disney’s rides and attractions. I have become an absolute snob about standing in lines for hours and the Fast Pass line feature alone is worth splurging (by reserving your access time and allows for multiple rides). Lastly, the VIP Tour offers guests the chance to peak behind the curtain of Disney’s popular attractions. What better way to “live” Disney than through the eyes of the cast and employees that create the Disney mystique. VIP guides are extensively trained about all of the theme parks as well as Disney’s history and trivia. Depending on the season, the costs (not including park tickets) range from $425-625 per hour and the minimum commitment is seven continuous hours for groups of 10.
Note that there are also a number of private companies that offer the same concierge service with perhaps the difference being is to work with you in planning your entire vacation that may involve off-site Disney attractions.
If exclusivity is your desire when visiting Disney World in Florida, the number one choice would be staying at Cinderella Castle Suite, Magic Kingdom. Publically we know the actor, Tom Cruise had the influence to to stay with his daughter in this suite…. it certainly appears you have to have some major pull to reserve a night in this off limits to the buying public. It was actually transformed into a single luxury suite for a Year of a Million Dreams promotion in 2007 and it appears that the only way you can snag this suite is win your stay through a sweepstakes. Yet, for the price, I am sure its doors have been opened for other rich and famous dignitaries and celebrities.
Cinderella’s castle is the ultimate accommodation, yet there are a number of world class properties to choose from on and around Disney World’s property that offer suites with VIP hospitality that range in price from $1,000 – $14,000 a night:
