Detroit’s First Gala of 2018

For international car enthusiasts, in just over a week, my hometown Detroit, Michigan, will once again, welcome visitors from all over the world to the 2018 North America International Auto Show ( in Downtown Detroit at Cobo Hall located off the Detroit River. What event organizers have been promoting for the past few months is the growing anticipation of showing off the best offerings within the automotive industry for the 2018 year as well as futurist models to excite the buying public of cars on the horizon.

An estimated 800,000 visitors will flock to Detroit from January 13 to January 28 to ooh and ahh over the latest and greatest in all things auto. Over 31 manufacturers and car brands will be presenting reveals of their auto products that will either be arriving in dealers’ showrooms or still in the concept phase.

Organizers of the Auto Show tout this event as 6 shows in one with activities “all things auto” that range from formal black tie events to activities for grade school children.

The full two week schedule of events kicks off with the Press Preview Event which will involve international press from over 60 countries with 5000 credentials issued to cover auto and product reveals and latest news coming out of the industry.

Automobili-D returning for its second year has dedicated 150,000 square feet of floor space to exhibit all things tech within the automotive industry, including matching tech students with available careers offered by participating companies. In 2017, over 180 brands participated that ranged from automakers, suppliers, tech start-ups, as well as universities and government organizations. This event will showcase connectivity, and mobility (i.e. driverless cars) aspects that are increasingly important to the city driving experience.

Industry Preview hosted by IHS Markit, an international consulting firm, will have a panel of industry analysts and forecasters that will discuss 2018 automotive trends to watch.

The Charity Preview Event is one of the biggest fundraising events hosted in Southeastern Michigan. All monies raised are for local children’s charities and since 1976; this impressive affair has raised more than $112 million dollars for deserving organizations. This event is considered the gathering of Who’s Who of the Metropolitan Detroit area consisting of politicians, car executives, philanthropists, and celebrities who share a love for cars and raising funds for children’s causes. Motown and the Motor City will be well represented as Detroit’s own Four Tops will be performing.

One other event that is somewhat more exclusive and is hosted on the same night as the Charity Event is called The Gallery which will feature $10 million of exclusive luxury automobile brands showcasing reveals from Aston Martin, Bentley, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche and Rolls Royce (which will be debut the absolutely stunning 2018 Rolls-Royce Phantom. All proceeds from this fundraising black tie gala will benefit the exemplary University of Michigan E.S. Mott Children’s hospital located in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

So, how does our handbag company find its lane during this special affair? This is really a delightful time for Beau Satchelle because we plan our marketing efforts to feature exclusive handbag clutch designs to women who will be attending formal charity events. Our offerings for formal events generally lean more towards exotic skins, as well as a touch of embellishments to compliment the extravagant couture gowns that will be worn. Our clutches can be customized by colors and leathers, elegant and petite but large enough to carry necessities (lip stick, powder, smartphone and id/cards; even customized for room to add a pair of soft shoe flats to wear for the long walks throughout the exhibition hall).

If you’re searching for a unique handbag to elevate your couture gown for future events, contact us for a consultation. It takes up to 3-4 weeks for delivery. -AJ
