Canine Couture Collars for Charity

In a previous blog, it was referenced that Beau Satchelle has a serious soft spot for dogs, especially beloved rescues. Since childhood, in our households, 1 or 2 canines have always been a part of the family. When Beau Satchelle began 2 years ago, the co-founders agreed that when the opportunity revealed itself, we would donate our artisan talents to a worthy cause that involved rescue dogs.

This labor of love project started last summer, to design, develop and donate custom couture collars to a non-profit that rescues and adopts abandoned dogs roaming the streets of Detroit. As a luxury leather company, we made a commitment that these collars would be equal in craftsmanship with no details overlooked, just as with our bespoke handbags and travel bags.

We’re pleased to show off our latest prototype designs:

“After Five” – Shown in Two Colors (pictured above)

Marine Blue – Bedazzled in crystals to match your pooch’s attitude in going out on the town for that black tie affair. Vegetable tanned leather hand dyed in marine blue, the lining of the collar is wrapped in soft blue plonge cow leather, hand sewn together with matching marine blue waxed thread, edges burnished with blue edge coat. The collar has fastened large and small crystals; finished with beautiful silver hardware that is embellished with crystals also.

Red – Vegetable tanned leather hand dyed in red, the lining of the collar is wrapped in soft red plonge cow leather, hand sewn together with matching red waxed thread, edges burnished with red edge coat. Again, the collar was fastened with large and small crystals and finished with beautiful silver hardware that was also embellished with crystals.

“The Model D”

Giving honor to the birthplace of the auto assembly in Detroit, this collar is the origin of all our designs… cut from vegetable tanned leather and hand dyed in brown. The interior of the collar is wrapped in soft plonge cow leather and hand sewn together with matching brown waxed thread; then, the edges were burnished with brown edge coat. This leather is finished with silver hardware. Simplistic yet durable, this particular collar will look beautiful on a larger dog.

“The Champ”

Hand dyed in brown, the lining of the collar is wrapped in soft plonge cow leather, hand sewn together with matching brown waxed thread, then the edges were burnished with brown edge coat. Silver Rivets were added to give the collar an architectural design finished with silver hardware including the D-ring where the lead will be attached. Now, they are waiting to be sent off the the rescue center.

Although the collars described have been donated to a wonderful non-profit organization (this will be shared in a future blog), any of the collars pictured can be purchased in Small, Medium and Large and custom made in your favorite colors, leathers, embellishments and specifications, to fit your dog’s look and personality. Prices range from $100 – 250.00 and up. The proceeds will be donated to area rescue shelters. -AJ
